My Blog Spark recently asked me if I would like to try out a Yoplait Get Active prize package, filled with outdoor toys and Yoplait yogurt. This sounded like a lot of fun to me – and even better, My Blog Spark is offering to give three of these prize packages to three lucky Contest Corner readers!

What’s Included:

Check out this big box of goodies! Each Get Active prize package includes the following:

  • One (1) coupon good for a free six-pack of Yoplait For Kids yogurt. This can be redeemed for Go-Gurt, Trix, or Yoplait Kids. Note: This coupon offer for a free six pack of Yoplait for Kids yogurt is not valid in some states, including Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota and Tennessee.
  • An insulated travel cooler
  • A water bottle
  • A jump rope
  • An outdoor game set that includes a beach ball, paddle ball, Jai-Ali and a Frisbee

Once my Get Active package arrived, I packed up the cooler with Trix yogurt and some other snacks, and headed down to the beach with Jai to try out these outdoor toys.

Our Day Of Fun:

Being a typical afternoon on the Oregon coast, the weather wasn’t the greatest. It was overcast and chilly, but we weren’t going to let that ruin our day! As you can see from the picture, it was quite windy, and the gusts only got stronger as we made our way down the beach.

I started unpacking the game set, and as I was pulling out the Frisbee, seagulls started to hover overhead because they thought I was unpacking food.

But throwing a Frisbee in these blustery conditions proved to be somewhat of a challenge:

We decided to head over to a local park instead, where the winds wouldn’t be so strong.

Tossing the Frisbee around was great fun, and so was the paddle ball. It’s been so long since I’ve played any outdoor games like this, and I really enjoyed it. My favorite was the Jai-Ali set – I had never played this before, and I thought it was a blast. I was a little clumsy on the first few throws, but by the end of the game I was a pro:

OK, maybe not, but I had a great time playing!
We didn’t dare break out the beach ball because of the wind, but I’m looking forward to taking it out once the weather starts to warm up. If we had this much fun on a miserable, windy day, then I’m sure it will be even better on a nice summer day!
We didn’t do the jump rope while we were at the park, but I gave it a whirl earlier in the week after I went jogging. Now I know why fitness experts always recommend jump rope as a great exercise tool. When I was 12, it was no big deal, but now after jumping rope for just a few minutes my heart was pounding. It’s definitely a good workout!

After we were done trying out the games, we sat on a picnic bench and enjoyed the snacks I’d brought.

I have a confession to make – I’ve actually bought Yoplait Kids yogurt for myself many times in the past. I love how I feel after I eat yogurt, but I’m not always big on the taste. I like the kiddie yogurt because it’s a good portion size for me, and I like the flavor combinations. This time, I had the Strawberry Banana Bash, and Jai chose the Raspberry Rainbow. He enjoyed it also – in fact, he had already snuck one out of the fridge before I even packed our cooler.

  6. We live in a lake community so we walk the four miles around our lake as a family, as weather permits.
