"What’s For Dinner?" Gift Basket Review & Giveaway – 3 Winners!

***This giveaway is now closed.***

I love to cook, but there are some nights when I just don’t have the time or energy to go to a lot of trouble. So when My Blog Spark asked if I would like to review a dinner kit from Romano’s Macaroni Grill, I was more than happy to try it out. And guess what? Three readers will win an awesome “What’s For Dinner” gift basket, filled with food and kitchen supplies!

My review:

This gift basket was right up my alley, because it was so useful. First of all, it comes with items that every kitchen can use. There’s a nice metal colander, which is very handy to have on hand, and a big serving spoon – can’t have too many of those! I was especially pleased with the cheese grater, because I’ve been meaning to buy a new one. The ones I have aren’t very good, so this will be a big help.

I also received a box of Romano’s Creamy Basil Parmesan Chicken Pasta dinner kit, and tried it out for dinner last night. The kit is designed to be a meal in a box, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much is actually included. The box contained noodles, a seasoning packet, creamy sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, and a packet of grated cheese. All I had to do was add meat, milk, and a bit of butter. Being ever-thrifty and an adventerous cook, I decided to substitute pork for the chicken.

I knew this would be a hit, because Jai was sneaking bites before I even served it up. The pasta was very yummy and had a great flavor – Jai said it was “Really, really good, like pasta you’d get in a restaurant”. It was great with the pork, and it made a lot more than what you see in the picture; we both had seconds and then ate the leftovers for lunch today. Mmm!
My kit also came with coupons for three more complimentary boxes, so I’m looking forward to having several more hassle-free, delicious meals.

Win it!

  4. My biggest problem is time. I work 40 hours a week and have three small kids. It is hard to find time to get the kids settled after daycare and to get a good dinner on the table.

  5. It’s mostly just atime struggle for me. I loev to cook, but I just don’t always have the time to do all the prep work.
