As I mentioned in a recent post, I was inspired to decorate for Valentine’s Day this year, which I’ve never done before. The idea first came to me when I was sorting through a collection of wrapping paper that I inherited from our beloved Grammy. I found a Valentine’s Day garland in the supplies, which I decided to decorate with. Then I made a trip to Dollar Tree and saw all of their fabulous pink items for the holiday; which I couldn’t pass up, because you know pink is my favorite color!
Valentine’s Day Dollar Tree Ideas
The first thing that caught my eye was this matching oven mitt and kitchen towel. I already have matching oven mitts and hot pads/towels for both Halloween and Thanksgiving, so I loved the idea of building this seasonal collection of oven mitts that I can rotate! As you can see, it goes great with my pink kitchen.
To hang up the oven mitt for my display, I used a pink binder ring that I bought in a multicolor pack from Amazon. I had bought these binder rings for a different craft that I’m working on, and it just so happened that it also worked perfectly to hang my oven mitt AND the shade of pink matched perfectly – you would think they had been sold as a set!
Next up was this little pink Valentine’s Day tree, which I snatched up immediately! I already have a pink Christmas tree, so I’ll be able to use this for multiple holidays. I decorated this with pink glitter baubles from my Christmas ornaments – you could repurpose any red or pink ornaments that you already have for this tree, or decorate it with a strand of white lights.
Cost Breakdown For These Valentine’s Day Dollar Tree Ideas
The binder ring came in a pack of 50 for $6.99 on Amazon, making the cost .14 cents per ring. The oven mitt, towel and pink tree were $1.25 each, and I already had the baubles; making my total $3.89 to put together these decorations. If you didn’t have pink or red Christmas ornaments on hand to decorate the little tree with, Dollar Tree has all kinds of things that would work – for example, I also saw a string of heart-shaped lights there that would be perfect. So check out your local Dollar Tree and see if they have these items or similar in stock – you could absolutely put together a fun display like this for under $5!
I love the mitt and towel, very cute!
These are some great ideas for Valentine’s Day! I especially like the pink tree– thanks so much for sharing!!
Super cute ideas thanks for sharing these. I love the Dollar Tree store but not so much since they raised their prices on everything. The one that I go to is like a mystery as to what things are now priced at until you get up to the register.
