Twist-Top Tower Fan Giveaway – Ends 08/13

Lasko Twist-Top Tower Fan

Are you melting in the summer sun? Then I have a great giveaway to help you beat the heat: One lucky winner will receive a portable Twist-Top Tower Fan, so read on!

This weekend, we experienced a heatwave over the Oregon coast and Portland areas, with the highest temperatures seen in over a year. It hit 85 degrees here in Seaside and I was melting! Now, I know many of you will be laughing at the notion of 85 being considered hot, but remember two things:

1. I’m British.

2. We don’t have A/C.

Indeed, pretty much no one in Oregon has A/C because most of the year is lower temperatures or stormy weather. So when it gets hot, oh boy, do we feel it! We do have a ceiling fan installed in the kitchen along with a portable fan that we keep upstairs, but it’s just not enough to cool the house off. So when I had an opportunity to review a complimentary Twist-Top Tower Fan fan by Lasko, a miniature fan that you can place right on your desk, I thought this would be a great solution for those days when I’m sweating bullets in front of my computer!

My Twist-Top fan

The fan works right out of the box, no assembly required. Just plug it in, turn it on, and hey presto! You’ve got a fan. It has three strength modes and an oscillation button as well. The “Twist” portion of the name comes from the fact that the top and bottom of the fan can be aimed in different directions. I love that it’s also highly portable, so it allows you to move it wherever you need to be in the house. And although it is small in size, it emits a very cooling breeze that will be oh-so-refreshing the next time it gets oppressively hot. I have a low heat tolerance, so I imagine I will be employing this fan a lot – in fact, I’m using it as I type this!

Here’s a little video demo of this fan sitting on top of my desk. It sounds a little louder in “Real life” than in the video – this is a fan, so it’s not going to be silent, but I don’t find the noise to obtrusive. I much prefer the hum of a fan to stagnant heat! 😉

This fan would be great for those without A/C as a supplementary way to relieve a bit of the misery of hot weather, or those who live in small spaces, such as college dorms. For more information, click here to visit the Twist-Top Tower Fan product page.

  8. The outdoor misting fan! Here in Texas, we have AC. I was a bit shocked to learn that most in Oregon don’t… When it can be up to 125 heat index, we learn quickly to either be inside or to be outside in the shade with a mister.
