Top Ten With Suzi Shelton
I’m inspired by: The children that I teach, the amazing people (especially the women) in my life and my husband and 2 children. And my dog.
I realized I wanted to play music when: When I moved to NYC over 20 years ago and started leading sing alongs at The Children’s Museum of the Arts in Soho! I loved it so much, and wanted to learn how to play the guitar so that I could accompany myself.
Four songs you might find on my iPod:
River by Leon Bridges
The Ghost Inside by Broken Bells
Old Pine by Ben Howard
Stolen Car by Patty Griffin
One word I would use to describe myself: Optimistic
The best part of being a musician is: Getting to perform LIVE
Right now, I’m most excited about: Right now I’m excited about a handful of things! My daughter got into her first choice High School. My son just found out he got a summer internship he really wanted, and my new album is being released in a few weeks!
Something most people don’t know about me is: I love to take naps (well, actually a lot of people know this about me…lol).
One of my happiest moments was: Seeing Yellow Stone National Park with my family a few years ago.
My music is: upbeat and fun and hopefully inspiring
In ten years, I see myself: Traveling on the road with my husband in an RV to see the country, and writing new songs while he paints landscapes.
