I’m inspired by:
Imagination. By animals and other things I see or find in nature. When I hear about inventive solutions people have come up with for environmental or social justice challenges. By the belief that we create our own reality, with our thoughts and actions.
I realized I wanted to play music when:
My mom said I’d come home from nursery school (pre-school) and pick out a song I’d heard that day. She said I looked at the piano and said “it’s in there somewhere.â€
Four songs you might find on my iPod:
Goose Snow Cone by Aimee Mann
Do It by Rae Morris
Chicago by Sufjan Stevens
Let’s Go Crazy by Prince
Dance To The Music by Sly and the Family Stone
One word I would use to describe myself:
Curious
The best part of being a musician is:
This beautiful, powerful thing that chooses to move through you and that you get to co-create with and share with other people.
Right now, I’m most excited about:
Sharing my new album Wild Is Everywhere which will be released April 20th. We have a new video to share also, for the song “Bounce.â€
Something most people don’t know about me is:
I jumped out of an airplane with my friends when we were in college.
One of my happiest moments was:
Meeting my son for the first time when he was 8 hours old.
My music is:
Fun, inspiring, whimsical, adventurous, pure-hearted.
In ten years, I see myself:
Making music of course, maybe even writing and producing musicals, and co-writing songs with kids.
