Are ants driving you crazy this year? Never fear, TERRO is here! TWO lucky Contest Corner readers will each win TERRO Liquid Ant Bait & TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait, so read on!
There are a lot of things I like about summer. There are also a lot of things I really don’t like, such as the explosion of insects that always accompanies warmer weather. When the weather started getting nicer in the spring, we had an overnight carpenter ant invasion – they came out of nowhere and they were all over the place! It was really, really disgusting. I refer to it as “Antmageddon” since it felt like my house had been taken over! Luckily, we had a few of TERRO’s ant products in the cupboard already (A bag of granules plus a spray), so we were able to get the problem under control and wipe out the intruders.
It’s an easy thing for me to forget with everything going on, but I think preventing bug infestations before they start is the best way to cut down on headaches. So I was pleased to receive a new set of products to help keep my home ant-free: Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits and Indoor Liquid Ant Baits. Our house is still free from ants thanks to the last TERRO smack-down we laid on them, so we set about putting these traps out so that we can hopefully prevent them from returning for a while.
Jai, our household’s resident bug-killer, went outside to place the TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait traps. It’s very simple to activate – there are two plastic stakes through the bottom of the trap holding it in place, which you slide out to free the bait station. You then push down on the bait box, which punctures a hole through the bottom and sets the trap. Boom! You’re done.
While Jai was preparing the trap, guess what he spotted?
An ant hiding in the gravel! Looks like we weren’t a moment too soon with these traps. And by the way…Jai says the ant was immediately draw to the bait.
He put the trap by the side of the house underneath the bathroom window, which is the area of our home where ants always seem to congregate.
Next, Jai opened the box of TERRO Indoor Liquid Ant Baits so that he could get the inside of the house ready to fend off any pesky intruders, too. This box contains 6 bait stations – all you have to do with these is snip the end off with scissors and place them on your desired surface with the label facing right side up wherever you need bait. (ETA: I had the directions totally backwards the first time, in case you read this yesterday and are now confused. Good thing Jai is in charge of this! ;))
Jai dotted these around the house – underneath the fridge, in a bathroom storage cupboard, and in other out-of-the way cubbyholes where sneaky ants might try to come in. Between these indoor traps and the outdoor bait stations, I’d say we’re in pretty good shape for keeping ants at bay!
I hope you’ve enjoyed our “Ant-ecdotes” on our experience with these. 😉
