Last month, I introduced you to Member’s Mark 4X Probiotic, a digestive health supplement from Sam’s Club. Collective Bias invited me to try this probiotic for two weeks and share my experiences with you. I’ve been taking it for almost a fortnight now, so it’s time to post my update and let you know how it went for me!
Member’s Mark 4X Probiotic is a supplement which contains 4 strains of helpful bacteria – Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium lactis, Bifidobacterium longum, and Bifidobacterium bifidum – meant to contribute to a healthy microflora, support immune system function, and promote overall gastrointestinal health. As I mentioned in my first post, I’ve been experiencing a lot of stomach issues due to stress and a lack of mobility as I recover from two dislocated patella. I was very curious to see what effect, if any, this would have on me.
These tablets come conveniently packaged in a flat blister pack labeled with the days of the week. This made it simple to keep track of taking them, and the small packaging size allowed me to stick a week’s worth of tablets on my desk next to my daily planner, where I would see them and remember to take them. The pills themselves have no discernible taste and are easy to take; this was important to me, because if you’ve taken a lot of vitamins, then you know how bad some of them taste!
So it may be an easy pill to swallow – but does it do anything? My stomach has indeed been feeling much better this week. The first week that I began taking this, I was also sick with a cold, which further contributed to my state of digestive unease; so I can’t say how much of my current well-being is from the probiotics and how much is due to the fact that I am now over the cold. However, my experience has been positive enough that I intend to continue taking this supplement. Although I was provided with a three-month supply, I wasn’t expecting anything from it, so I didn’t anticipate that I would take it for longer than the two-week test period. It was fascinating to hear everyone’s experiences with this product during the Digestive Health Twitter party, and it’s encouraged me to stick with it! With my mobility being temporarily limited while I recover from my knee injury, it’s had a knock-on effect on my overall health – not being able to move much has a significant impact on everything from your sleep cycle to your digestion. So as far as I’m concerned, anything that might be able to give my well-being a boost during my recovery is very welcome and certainly can’t hurt!

Probiotics are so good for you and this sounds like a very good brand! Great review!
I have never used probiotics before but have purchased probiotic yogurt before…not sure if that is the same thing but anyways, it was good! These sound really interesting. Especially for someone who has a bad immune system like me. Thanks for sharing!
I have been wondering about using these for myself. I had received some months ago for the kids, but have not tried it myself. Thanks for the post.
I just purchased some probiotics myself and am hoping they help me. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Glad to hear its working for you.
It seems like they are pretty helpful. I haven’t been consistent in taking mine but it still improved my digestive functioning!
we had a great experience with probiotics for our kids…maybe I should try them too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I’ve been thinking about trying a probiotic supplement. I may give these a try. Thanks.
I wasn’t sure about taking these. I keep seeing them on sale and think about getting some. It is great to hear your experience first!
I have been taking probiotics since my chiropractor recommended it – they definitely help me to feel better! I’m glad you had a similar experience too!
We love probiotics and this looks like a great brand to try. Thanks!
That’s great to hear this is working for you. I’ve heard great things about probiotics.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve never tried probiotics. I’ll have to read more about them but I’m glad that they are working out for you.
When Zoe was little I had to give her some every day, but she seems to be better now. But it is really good to have some on hand
I took something similar for a while and remember a marked improvement with how I felt like “over all” – you should continue taking them and let us know how you feel in 3 months. I would be curious to know 🙂
Cheeseburger-roni!
I know this post is a long time ago. I still could use the help.
