You may recognize this photo from last week’s Nutrisystem weigh-in, when I mentioned the crate of chips that came in for me to review! The chips you see are from Simply 7 Snacks, who create delicious hummus, pomegranate, and lentil chips. When this shipment arrived, Jai and I tore into them in about 5 seconds! The first bag I opened were their Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Chips. The flavor of hummus and red peppers was so delicious, and the airy way in which these chips have been cooked reminds me a little of some brands of chips back home in England (Or crisps as we call them!). Mmmmm!
Next, we tore into the Creamy Dill Lentil Chips (I always like dill chips!) and the White Cheddar Pomegranate Chips, which combine the sweet kick of fruit with delectable cheese – that sounds kind of weird, but in practice it’s not, it’s DELICIOUS! These were so, so good. Although they’re meant to be a healthier snack with no trans fat, I know that snacks are my weakness and there was no way I’d be able to eat the rest of them in moderation. I would have eaten the whole box in about 5 minutes! 😉 Hence, we decided to pack up the remainder of the box and take them to our family for them to sample and enjoy, too. That’s why I mentioned it in my weigh-in post, since I was pretty proud of my willpower there. 😉 To give you an idea of how many chips they sent, the photo you see above is what was left after Jai and I had tried those other bags!
The nice thing about enlisting my family to taste-test these items is that you get a larger sampling of what people think beyond just Jai and I. We took these over to Grandma, who was happy to receive them and decided to taste the Black Pepper Pomegranate. She said it was very spicy and tasty, and mentioned that this would be the perfect thing to take on a road trip with her, as she and our aunt were heading out for a short vacation.
Once they got back, Jai asked how the chips went over on the trip, and the consensus was that they had both really liked them. The flavors they had for the trip ranged from Sea Salt in all three varieties to Bruschetta Lentil Chips and Tomato Basil Hummus Chips. They were able to use them as a snack on the road, and after the trip was through, there were 4 bags left. Since they both had liked the chips so well, Grandma and her daughter decided to split them and each take two bags home. So there you have it: Four people tasted these, and all four loved them!

Those are some unique chips! I don’t really eat crunchy stuff anymore but these would be great for the kids.
Yum! They look really tasty. I don’t know if I would have had your willpower.
Great! Now I want some dill and lentil chips…….right NOW!
They carry them at our Whole Foods! I will be picking some up the next time I go in. Thanks for the recommendation.
Glad to hear you liked these. I’ll have to look for them. The cheddar pomegrante sounds so different but like a great combo.
