I’m somewhat of an exfoliant expert. I have a whole array of exfoliating products in my bathroom, and my friends think it’s quite funny how I’m always looking for new and better exfoliators – it’s become kind of a joke, with them buying me different types for birthdays and Christmas. I love bath products, so that’s OK with me! So when Skin Free Skincare asked if I’d like to try their Sweet & Smooth Sugar Scrub, I was happy to see if it could pass muster with my army of exfoliants.
The Sweet & Smooth Sugar Scrub has nice, thick granules in olive & sweet almond oil. The oils all rise to the top, so it might be a good idea to stir it up a little bit before using. I rubbed this all over my legs and elbows, and was immediately impressed with its scrub power. My sensitive skin can get pretty dry, and sometimes I use exfoliators and am disappointed to find that many of them don’t slough all the dead skin off. Yuck! This scrub really delivered, and did a fantastic job of smoothing my skin and removing those trouble spots. And although it was thorough, it was also gentle, and didn’t irritate my skin at all.
The moisturizing qualities of this are also top-notch – the oil makes your skin softer than soft and leaves the skin thoroughly moisturized and silky after you get out of the shower. To combat dry skin, I usually use an exfoliant in the shower to get rid of the dead layer of skin, and a lotion after I get out to smooth off any remaining rough spots. This one product completely eliminates the need for a moisturizer afterward – in fact, it left my skin feeling much softer than most lotions I’ve ever used, because the oil penetrates the skin with a rich moisturizer, instead of just leaving a surface layer of cream.
I was thoroughly impressed with this excellent sugar scrub and have been using it every time I shower because I like it so much – it’s a nice little pampering treat and it makes my skin feel so nice and soft all day after I shower. The only downside is that the oil in the product leaves your shower extremely slippery, which they warn of on the package. The first time I used this, I had to be careful how I stepped so that I wouldn’t slip. It also leaves a film in the tub that could pose as a slip hazard later on. Granted, I don’t have a slip mat in my shower, so that might possibly help – but please just bear this in mind when purchasing, as I don’t want anyone to fall when using it. Other than that word of caution, Skin Free gets a resounding thumbs-up from this exfoliant snob!
Thanks for sharing your review! I use the Skin Free bar soap every morning and I’m very happy with it.
I too am a “scrub” addict and try as many as I can! This sounds like a great one though so you don’t really even need to use moisturizer!! Great Review!

I love skin free. Especially the body butter. I’d like to try this scrub.
I am glad I have found your review. I have heard a little about the products from Skin Free. I am thinking it would be great for my daughter’s skin problems. I think it will check it out. Great review, thanks
Hi Beeb,
We have found away to get rid of the “slip and fall” risk and still keep all the good things about the Sugar Scrub. It was so simple!! We just add our Liquid Soap to the mix! You still get all the exfoliant and moisturizing effects, plus you get a clean rinse and your neck stays in tact!
Thx for the great review, Julie Skin Free Skincare
