Review & Giveaway – Kernel Season’s

Jai and I are very compatible because we are so much alike. We have so much in common, it’s almost uncanny. But there is one major area in which we differ –

Popcorn.

Yes, popcorn. I love to cover my popcorn in salt; he hates salt. We often joke about this oh-so-major difference of opinion, because it’s one of the few things we don’t agree on. But now, we have a relationship mediator: Kernel Season’s!

Kernel Season’s sent us an array of popcorn and seasonings to try, and we were eager to put it to the test. Even though we can’t agree about salt, Jai and I both concur that popcorn is one of our favorite snacks. First, we tried Kernel Season’s microwave popcorn. This is the next best thing to having movie popcorn at home – we both loved how buttery the popcorn was, and while there was just enough salt to please my taste buds, it wasn’t too much for Jai. Not only does it taste great, but the bags are huge; more than enough for two people to have a generous serving.

Next, we tried the Kernel’s own popping corn kernels and sampled the various seasonings. The popping corn itself is probably the best I’ve used – the popcorn comes out so big and fluffy, and Jai mentioned a few times that he was really impressed with how good it was; it seemed to turn out perfect every time. To season it, we first sprayed on some of the Kernel’s spritzer butter, and then added the seasoning. The spray is a new product, and it is genius. I’ve bought popcorn seasoning from Kernel Season’s in the past, and although I’ve always loved the flavor, I wished it would stick to the popcorn better. Apparently I’m ahead of my time, because a few years ago I actually tried spritzing PAM spray on my popcorn before shaking the seasoning on. (Note to my readers: don’t try that, it’s disgusting.) The popcorn spritzer is the perfect answer to this, and it really allows you to taste the full flavor of the seasonings.

We were sent six different seasonings to try: White Cheddar, Butter, Nacho Cheddar, Parmesan and Garlic, Ranch, and Kettle Corn. Although we tried to choose a favorite, we just couldn’t come to a conclusion! With so many yummy flavors to choose from, there was one for each mood and craving.

Bottom line? This is a delicious way to enjoy popcorn, and can also be a great alternative to other snacks – since the seasonings are so flavorful, they make a yummy substitue for chips. Bonus: The popcorn spritzer has 0 calories, and the seasonings have only 2 per serving!
