About Douglas Plush:

From the Douglas website:

“DOUGLAS COMPANY has been a family-owned business for over 50 years. We are proud of our “Old New England Work Ethic” and our able staff, some of whom have been with us for 20 and 30 years.

Our success comes from our unique designs and high quality materials and craftsmanship. Our animals have gestures and expressions that clearly distinguish them as Douglas. Our faces evoke a sense of endearment.”

My Take:

I recently had a chance to review one of the stuffed teddy bears that Douglas carries. It was hard to decide which cute bear to make my new pal, but I finally settled on the bear on your left, named The Kid.

When he arrived in the mail, the first thing I noticed is just how soft and squishable he is! His fur is silky smooth, and his body is pliable and easy to pose. The toy is incredibly cute and full of personality. The Kid is very well made, and you can tell that they paid a lot of attention to detail. I did notice that the rope pattern on the back of the boots had some loose strings, which were easily trimmed off with no detriment to the appearance; you can also see a bit of the glue backing if you look hard. I mentioned this to Douglas Plush, who had their quality control department look into it. They told me that they did not find it to be a common problem and thought it to be unique to the particular one I reviewed.

I’m one of these women who never stopped collecting stuffed animals, so once I received The Kid, I sat him on a dresser to meet my other soft toys. They seem to be getting along great, don’t you think?

  3. that’s adorable!
I would get the 1338 Pink Horse Rattle for the little girl I’m expecting; it is very similar to a pink stuffed horse rattle I used to have as a baby!

  4. I would love the Stegosaurus. I saw that the T Rex was discontinued. Too Bad! Thank you!
