My mom always made the coolest birthday cakes when I was a kid. One of the most memorably epic cakes I received was for my birthday in 1993, the year that “Ranger mania” had swept the nation. I was a huge fan of the show, like most kids, but the action figures were notoriously scarce – remember the news stories about parents punching each other out to get the last Red Ranger figure? Well, as luck would have it, my parents were walking through Safeway picking up food for my birthday when they noticed a set of Power Rangers cake decorations for sale. These weren’t just any decorations – they were really nicely made figurines that were the right size to use as toys in and of themselves. Imagine my delight and surprise when my parents brought out my cake with the coveted POWER RANGERS on it! Those figures were my favorite toys for a long time – in my opinion, they were better than the action figures that were released back then, since they actually looked much more like the characters.
Those memories were brought back for me when I received a set of complimentary Power Rangers Samurai Squinkies to review. These charming, miniature figurines are adorable pint-sized versions of the latest incarnation of the Rangers, the Samurai. They come in sets of 12 tiny figures, which would be perfect to either split up and stuff in stockings or wrap up as a set. These figures are so tiny and cute – I can see them especially appealing to female Power Rangers fans, such as myself!
Power Rangers Samurai Squinkies are available on Amazon for $10.99.
These would make awesome stocking stuffers…
We love Power Rangers.
