Pillsbury Simply… Cookies – Review & Giveaway

Pillsbury Simply… Cookies – Review & Giveaway

We love cookies in this household, so when our friends over at MyBlogSpark asked if I’d like to try out the new “Simply…” line of refrigerated cookies, my answer was a resounding “Yes!”. And one lucky Contest Corner reader will receive a prize pack containing a cookie jar, a coupon good for a free package of Simply…Cookies, and a tote bag, so read on!

My Take:

After I received my package, I took my tote bag and coupon to the store so that I could pick up a package of “Simply…”. I love this bag – it’s made out of sturdy canvas, which enables you to carry quite a lot; it’s become one of my favorite grocery totes.

I decided on a package of Simply…Chocolate Chip Cookies, because that’s my favorite kind of cookie! Usually, I bake everything from scratch, so this was such a change because it was so fast and effortless. I didn’t even have to cut the dough – it comes pre-separated, so all you have to do is put the dough mounds on a tray and stick them in the oven. This would be great for anyone who wants a nice warm cookie without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.

Simply…Cookies aim to taste as homemade as possible, so they contain no trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup, and no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Jai and I both enjoyed these cookies and thought they were most delicious!

So what did I do with my batch of cookies? I put them in my new cookie jar, of course!

  2. I keep cooking simple by cooking for the freezer whenever possible. Then, when it’s a busy day, all I have to to is pop something in the oven and we’ll have a healthy, delish dinner.

  3. I keep my cooking simple by making sure I have all ingredients before starting but also by trying to stick to under 10 ingredients, thanks! sbcashortie (at) hotmail (dot) com

  4. I keep cooking simple by sticking to basic recipes with few ingredients and making enough to either have leftovers or to put a dish in the freezer for another day.

  5. I keep my cooking simple by keeping basic pantry staples on hand. This cuts way down on trips to the store for a single ingredient.

  6. I try to keep cooking simple by choosing recipes with ingredients I already have on hand. Nothing worse than picking out a recipe in a magazine and realizing you have to go buy 4 or 5 ingredients to make it work. So I stick with magazines like Taste of Home that generally use pantry staples even in interesting recipes!

  7. I try to keep things simple by processing my vegetables and putting them in bags so they are ready to cook with ahead of time.

  9. I like to make sure I have all my ingredents before I start. Also, I pick simple recipes. Sometimes simple is best.

  12. Both my husband and I work full-time so we rely on a lot of prepared foods to make dinner quick & easy. I buy a lot of hamburger which can easily be used for spaghetti sauce, sloppy joes or tacos for quick dinner meals.

  16. I keep cooking as simple as I can by keeping my cupboards, refrigerator and freezer stocked and my garden weeded and watered so that ingredients are readily at hand as much as possible.

  17. It’s surprisingly easy to keep your cooking simple when you (unfortunately!) have a tiny budget – you just have to! I haven’t been able to build up much of a pantry here, so I’ve been sticking to meals that just rely on just a few ingredients at a time. A recipe that relies on a lot of different bottled sauces, etc gets too expensive if you don’t already have a ton of things sitting around the fridge.

Instead, I’ll buy a few things that don’t cost much and that pack a lot of different flavors – a couple of sweet potatoes, a bunch of kale or chard, a red bell pepper, and a small amount of chorizo – and then just roast it all together. The ingredients have so much character on their own that the only other things you need are some olive oil, salt and pepper (or whatever dried spices and herbs you have). Onion and garlic are welcome, but not entirely necessary. I live in a pretty expensive area but can still feed two for about $7 this way and it’s really good and not boring… AND it only takes a tiny amount of effort.

  18. When hamburger is on sale, I buy in bulk and then cook it and freeze it for tacos, spaghetti, sloppy joes later.

  19. As soon as I get my produce home I prep it for the weeks’ menu. That helps me save time during the week.

  20. Since we became ‘Empty Nesters’ I have had to scale back on the amounts that I cook, and since neither my Husband or I feel like cooking complicated recipes when we get home from work @ night I try to stay in the 3 – 4 ingreidient range and either grill or broil the meats (it’s more healthy, too!)
