Nutrisystem Week 5 Weigh-In

It’s week 5 of Nutrisystem, and we have more milestones to celebrate!

Beeb’s Weigh-In:

Beeb's Weight - Week 5

Starting Weight: 164.5 lbs
Week 5 weight: 157.8 lbs
Total Weight Lost: 6.7 lbs
Goal Weight: 110 lbs

I lost another 1.6 lbs and got myself firmly into the 150s weight range!

Jai's Weight - Week 5

Jai’s Weigh-In:

Starting Weight: 217.5 lbs
Week 5 Weight: 199.6 lbs
Total Weight Lost: 17.9 lbs
Goal Weight: 158 lbs

Jai lost 2.2 pounds last week and left the 200 weight range!

As you can see, we had another great week. Jai has actually been losing weight so quickly that he decided to update his goal weight! Originally, he set 180 pounds as his goal. That would still be considered in the “Overweight” range for his height, but he thought it seemed like a realistic goal. Well, he started losing weight so quickly with Nutrisystem that all of a sudden his “Ideal” weight, 158 pounds, seemed achievable! So, he decided to update his goal to 158, which is a healthy weight for his height. It’s pretty exciting to feel like you can achieve something that didn’t seem realistic anytime in the immediate future, so he’s pretty pumped!

My goal weight is 110 pounds, which is on the lowest end of the healthy weight range for my height. There’s quite a range of what’s considered healthy for 5′ 4″ female, so I am basing this goal off my small frame and what I know looks and feels the best on myself personally. I’m really pleased to consistently lose weight every single week and know that I can rely on Nutrisystem to take care of my dietary needs, no matter how busy I am or how my knee function is in terms of being able to exercise that week.

Last week’s Nutrisystem routine was pretty typical. Both Jai and I have noticed that we’ve slacked off in entering our calories in the Nutrisystem tracker each day – which doesn’t negatively impact our diets, as we know the plan by heart now and stick to it every day, but I think it’s good to log your food just from a psychological standpoint for overall discipline and keeping to a routine. I also noticed that last week I skipped a ton of the in-between snack items such as the PowerFuels, SmartCarbs, and veggies, because I was busy and didn’t really feel hungry. I think it’s OK to skip a few of these if I’m really not feeling hungry, but not getting my vegetables and fruits in is no good. This didn’t stop me from having great weight loss this week, but the whole point of this for me is making lifestyle changes so that my health will be permanently improved. I realized last week that I had really been over-doing it with work to the point where I was so stressed that I felt like a basket case. I’ve started taking more breaks during the day so that I can reclaim my schedule a little bit, and reminding myself to stop and eat my salad goes hand in hand with that. I really love the fact that following Nutrisystem helps me be more self-aware and adapt my habits so that they are more sane and healthy!

Another noteworthy event over the last week was our trip to the Oregon Zoo. Since we were going to be on the road and at the event for much of the day, I packed our pantry-stable meals and bananas (Our favorite SmartCarb!) for us to eat on the go. I just tucked our Nutrisystem dinners and two plastic forks in my purse, and when we were ready to eat dinner, we sat down at a picnic table at the zoo and enjoyed our food!

Since the entrées that I brought are shelf-stable, all we had to do was open them and eat. I realize that not everyone would enjoy eating these dinners “Cold”, but we thought they tasted just fine. Now, we certainly could have bought something while we were traveling that could fit into the Nutrisystem plan, so it’s not like we were forced to do this; however, I’ve found that it actually makes my life easier to just take the Nutrisystem food along, because then I have the food ready whenever I am and I save money that I would have spent eating out!

As you can see in the picture, we did pick up some sodas to go with our meal. I had a diet Coke – diet soda is unlimited on Nutrisystem – and Jai had a regular Sprite, which was one of the few “Off-plan” things he’s consumed in this last month. 😉 Since they were serving local beers and wine, I also got myself one beer. The plan advises that you don’t drink alcohol, for obvious reasons, but says that it’s OK every once in a while if you indulge sensibly. And, since I had forgotten to eat my dinners the previous two nights, I figured that would balance out the calories in the beer. 😉 I love how reasonable everything is on Nutrisystem; it’s never a case of “Don’t do this! Don’t do that!”, but rather a common-sense approach to everything. You don’t get deprived of anything – I can still have fun and enjoy myself on trips out!

We’re feeling great as we wrap up week 5. I do feel a little better physically and I can tell a slight difference in my appearance – it’s early days yet, so it’s not like I’ve had a big transformation, but I feel like I look slightly less “Bloated”. I can definitely tell a difference in Jai, who now constantly needs a belt for his pants! It’s an exciting time for us and we’re looking forward to our next weigh-in for week 6.

Also, we have some exciting Nutrisystem news to share: Nutrisystem is debuting their enhanced Nutrisystem D Diet Plan, designed specifically for those with Type 2 Diabetes. You can click here to read all about this plan. Jai and I have been impressed from the start with the options Nutrisystem offers for diabetics; diabetes runs in Jai’s family and is something we have both been concerned about for him, so we really appreciate what they offer for diabetics and those at risk for diabetes.

As members of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Panel, Jai and I will be receiving the Nutrisystem program free of charge in order to share our honest opinions with you. Always consult with your physician before embarking on any weight loss or exercise program.

  1. You guys are amazing! I feel inspired just by watching you drop off the weight. I’m so proud of you!!!

  2. Congrats! That’s wonderful that you both are doing so well. My husband has been trying to find a diet that works. This just might be for him. I’m going to tell him about it and look into it.

  3. Wow you are both doing amazing, keep up the great work. I think it’s great you brought your meals with you, I’m not sure I’d be motivated to do that!

  4. Congrats on the successes you are having! Nutrisystem certainly seems like an easy plan to follow, and I like that you can travel with the food items. Although I agree I would probably be one of those people who would not like the food cold, at least it is still an option, which probably helps keep people on track!

  5. I really enjoy reading your posts on this journey. You are doing so great. Healthy prepared food would make my life easier too. 🙂

  9. I have noticed that over the course of building a relationship with real estate
entrepreneurs, you’ll be able to come to understand that, in every single real estate transaction, a payment is paid. Eventually, FSBO sellers never “save” the commission. Rather, they struggle to win the commission by doing an agent’s job.

In accomplishing this, they invest their money and time to execute,
as best they are able to, the assignments of an broker. Those duties include getting known
the home via marketing, delivering the home to prospective buyers,
building a sense of buyer emergency in order to trigger an offer, preparing home inspections,
controlling qualification checks with the loan company, supervising maintenance tasks, and assisting the closing.
