Moles are one of the most common garden pests. Want an easy way to make your property less appealing to these little creatures? TWO lucky Contest Corner readers will win Mole & Gopher Repellent Spray from Sweeney’s, so read on!
Even though we get visits from household pests, I try to avoid killing them whenever I can. I do have to buy traps for things like ants and rats, because I feel like I really have no choice with them. But when it comes to moles, I’ve never had a desire to get rid of them. They do cause mounds through my yard, but let’s be real – I live on wetlands, it’s not like I’m going to have a manicured garden anyway. I think the little guys are so funny and cute, and I like to just leave them be. However, now that we have a driveway, I’ve been in a bit of a pickle. The moles enjoy digging around and in the driveway, and since our driveway is gravel, I could see it doing damage. Fortunately, there’s a solution that I was happy to try: Mole & Gopher Repellent Spray.
What I like about this spray is that it is meant to simply repel moles, not kill them. The active ingredient is 100% castor oil, which is designed to contaminate the moles’ food source of worms and make it unattractive for them to be in your yard, while remaining safe for use around children and pets. To use, you simply hook it up to your garden hose and spray over your lawn.
Jai hooked up the complimentary bottle we received to the garden hose and sprayed all around the driveway. It was fast and easy to use, and hopefully will make our mole friends less inclined to make their home in our driveway.
After we got our driveway covered, we took the rest of the bottle over to Grandma’s house and covered her large backyard, which also has a mole problem.
Since we just treated the driveway over the weekend and Grandma’s yard yesterday, I’ll be posting a follow-up in a couple of weeks to let everyone know how it’s worked.

I have had a crazy time with moles in my yard lately! It’s so frustrating!
I swear at them. Sometimes I stuff things down their holes. Mostly swearing at them…but it doesn’t work:/
i think i have a molpher in my garden. this would be perfect!
I make my husband deal with them.
My husband tires everything to get rid of moles – like spraying water from the hose directly into the hole. Nothing works!
I hate moles! they have ruined my back yard!
Every time I go visit my grandma’s house she has a mole. So I would give this to her to help her get rid of them, as they make a maze out of her yard.
I have Pocket Gophers…trapped 3 of them. But, we seem to have a really smart one that eludes us. I would really like to try this, maybe this gopher would Go Away & Stay Away!! Gophers eat plants and tree roots.
The gopher almost got my Zinnias, before I got him!! LOL
I usually just let the dogs take care of it
We use a mole trap and hope that we catch them.
