Fresh Home magazine is a brand new publication from the Reader’s Digest Association. I was interested to have a look through this mag because as I mentioned yesterday, I’m always in search of inspiration and hints as I work on this remodel of my house. Fresh home offers everything from design tips to fun DIY projects – one of my favorites was an article called “Color Magic”, which gives advice for choosing the best color palette in your home. I liked the photos that accompanied the piece in particular, because they featured some chic color combinations with a nice ambiance. It’s good to remind myself of how good things will look when we’re finished tearing the house to pieces. It’s all worth it!
I also enjoyed how this magazine incorporates food and dining articles – it rounds the magazine out and makes it a good resource for everything home & hearth. I liked the “Dinner DIY” section, which had suggestions on how to get three different meals out of one chicken. I love simplifying cooking time and transforming leftovers, so this was right up my alley. Another food-related feature is “Celebration Ales”, featuring the staff’s top beer picks. I must say, I’m not sure that I would call Pabst Blue Ribbon a “High-quality beer” – but I say that with great affection, since I buy more PBR than any other beer.
Fresh Home’s debut issue was fun and full of interesting ideas. This magazine is published quarterly, so we can look forward to tips and tricks for each season. If you’d like to check Fresh Home out for yourself, you can find them on the web at FreshHomeMag.com.
