Parents make a lot of sacrifices for their children – but forgoing good music doesn’t have to be one of them! Although a lot of children’s albums are cloying at best, there are many alternatives on the market now that bridge the age gap by appealing to kids and grown-ups alike. When you think of rock legends Los Lobos, I’m sure children’s music is the furthest thing from your mind – but that’s exactly what they’ve produced on their latest effort, Los Lobos Goes Disney. They have reinterpreted a gaggle of Disney classics in their signature sound, resulting in an album that parents can enjoy right along with the little ones. From the ghoulish grooves of “Grim Grinning Ghosts” (my personal favorite) to well-loved Disney standards like “Heigh-ho” and “The Bear Necessities”, this album is thoroughly fun – and a welcome respite from the usual nursery rhymes.
Los Lobos Goes Disney is available on Amazon for $13.85. Walt Disney records provided me with a copy of this album for review.
I’ve heard this CD and I agree with you. It is so nice to find music that both my daughter and I can enjoy at the same time.
I like the idea of having music you can listen to WITH your children!
Sounds like something I may have to buy! Thanks for the review!
