Tablespoon.com is a new website from General Mills that allows users to search from a database of over 25,000 recipes, share favorites with friends on various social networking sites, and download money-saving coupons. And Tablespoon.com would like to give one lucky Contest Corner reader a “Pass The Inspiration” prize pack containing handy kitchen essentials, so read on!
My Take:
I love to cook and try new recipes. Although I have dozens of cookbooks, I find myself using the web more often than not to search out recipe ideas; it’s just so easy to have any recipe I can think of instantly at my fingertips. I’m always in search of great new recipe website, so when MyBlogSpark invited me to sign up for Tablespoon.com, I knew I had to check it out. I registered for an account and started searching for recipes – it was quick and easy, and I noticed that you can filter your results according to what you want, such as “30 minutes or less”, “Vegetarian”, “Lower calorie”, etc. You can also adjust a sliding scale based on how many ingredients you want to use, although I noticed that the same recipe was listed under “2 ingredients” and “17 ingredients” – there were a few minor bugs on the site similar to this, but this is a beta version of the website, so obviously they are still perfecting it.
You can also rate recipes, save favorites to your own personal “recipe box”, as well as submit your own recipe creations. The cream of the crop will be selected by Tablespoon.com to be sent out in their email newsletter, so who knows – your recipe could be famous! Social networking junkies will also enjoy the fact that Tablespoon make it effortless to share recipes will all your Facebook and Twitter buddies. I tweeted this one out to my friends because I love the photo of the spooky Halloween cookies hanging on the tree!
I enjoyed checking out the recipes on Tablespoon.com – it’s always fun to have a new resource for mealtime inspiration! And of course, no good chef can be without good tools, so MyBlogSpark sent me a great set of kitchen utensils to help me prepare my favorite recipes. I got a nice, thick set of hotpads, an awesome set of measuring spoons, and a measuring cup. The measuring utensils are made out of solid metal – I love these, because not only are they sturdy, but the measurements are etched in, so you don’t have to worry about them rubbing off. I have a set of plastic measuring spoons that the measurements have completely worn off of, so I have no idea which one is which. I’ll never have that problem with these!
This prize package would be perfect for any cook – female or male – on your list! It’s always great to receive a present that is really useful. I know that many are tightening their belts this year due to the economy, so I think a lot of people on your list would be very appreciative of a practical present!
Win it!
