Holiday Gift Guide 2009: Slimperfect $50 Gift Certificate Giveaway!

I’ve talked about SlimPerfect quite a bit in recent months. You’ll remember that I reviewed one of their swimsuits back in April, and ended up taking it along to any destination that had a pool – my trusty swimsuit has been everywhere from England to San Diego this year! My Take:

I’ve been hitting the gym a lot lately, and I hired a personal trainer last month to help me with my fitness goals. As I started frequenting the gym again, I realized that it was time for some new workout clothes. I’m very much into fashion and I have a hard time finding gym clothes that are cute; and although I despise wearing baggy t-shirts, I didn’t feel comfortable wearing anything too snug. So as I did my weight training, I’d look in the mirror and see ugly old workout pants and a potato sack shirt – not cute. So to remedy that, I logged on to SlimPerfect and picked out some flattering active wear!

I was sent a $100 gift certificate to spend for this review, so I chose several staple pieces to wear while working out. The first item I chose was a pair of SlimCapris and a Zebra Tankini, both pictured above. These pieces are awesome for working out – I know most of you think “Swimsuits” when you think of SlimPerfect, but these are totally versatile. They fit great and feel good while I’m working out – although they have built-in support to help flatter the figure, it’s not too tight or restrictive while you’re exercising. The cut is very flattering and makes me feel confident while I’m in the gym, which really helps encourage me as I work toward my goals. In addition, these pieces have also proven to be very durable, lasting through the wear and tear of 3x weekly rigorous workouts. The tag advises hand washing, but I took my chances with the washing machine and they’ve come out beautifully each time. (But don’t try this at home, kids!)

The next item I added to my cart was this Slimdress in Black & White. It was on clearance for $18.00, so I couldn’t resist, but it wasn’t available in my size so I chose the next smallest. Since I’m getting in shape and losing weight, I figured this would give me something to wear to the pool in the coming months. The picture above is me wearing it now – I’m going to wait until I tone up more to wear it out, but it actually fits quite well already even though it’s smaller than the other pieces I ordered.

Finally, I ordered this super cute Sleeved Tankini. Here I am in my sneakers and ponytail, ready to workout! I adore this and love the coverage on the arms that isn’t heavy or bulky.

The verdict? SlimPerfect’s activewear is flattering and ideal for hitting the gym. The capris make great workout pants – I’d love to see a full-length pant from SlimPerfect, too.
