Today’s featured musician is Greyson Chance, the 13-year-old who became a YouTube sensation with his cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at his school talent show. Greyson has since been signed to Ellen DeGeneres’ new label eleveneleven, and his debut album Hold On Til The Night drops today, August 2nd. Top Ten With Greyson Chance

I’m inspired by: I am very inspired by old rock ‘n’ roll. I love old bands like Journey, ACDC, and Kiss. But I also love modern music, I’m really into Coldplay, Snow Patrol, and Taylor Swift.

I realized I wanted to play music when: I would listen to old Michael Jackson albums and really be inspired at how he started very young and continued to keep on doing it. I always wanted to be like Michael! I don’t really dance on stage or sing R&B but I still consider him a massive inspiration.

Four songs you might find on my iPod: Lady Gaga – The Edge of Glory, Adele – Rolling in the Deep, Kings of Leon – Use Somebody, and Coldplay – Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.

One word I would use to describe myself: Independent

The best part of being a musician is: I love being able to travel and perform for fans around the world. And being able to just create art and music, I have so much fun with it.

Right now, I’m most excited about: My debut album, Hold On ‘Til The Night, which comes out August 2nd. I am so excited for it! I have been working on it for a year.

Something most people don’t know about me is: I am sometimes insecure, just like any other normal kid.

One of my happiest moments was: When I went on my first tour and saw all the fans and how devoted and sweet they are.

My music is: Universal, a pop/rock sound. I think everyone will be surprised that it is coming from a 13 year old!

In ten years, I see myself: On tour and making records!
