With the Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaching, many of my readers will be reflecting on the things they are grateful for this year. Parents often like to use the holidays as a time to emphasize lessons about gratitude and empathy to their children – and this year, there is a fun, free game that can help them do just that! ToonUps have launched a new app called “Giving Thanks”, just in time for Thanksgiving. This Facebook game lets you share positive feelings with your Facebook pals, leading players through “Gratitude Grotto” and “Positive Post”. Here, you can share what your are grateful for and let people know that you appreciate them. This app gives you a glimpse at A Better World, ToonUps’ full Facebook game coming next month. A Better World is a unique game that allows you to be rewarded for good deeds with “Do-Good Gold”.
ToonUps shared a sneak peek at “Giving Thanks” with me, and I thought it was a cute little game. I made my own custom avatar, then headed down to “Gratitude Grotto”. Here, you can share the things that you are grateful for, and watch other players’ expressions of gratitude float by in the water. You can click to vote on each sentiment that floats by, either giving it the thumbs-up or tagging it as something that doesn’t sound like it belongs in a happy place. You are rewarded with “Do-Good Gold” for each gratitude that you vote on. After I watched all that gratitude float by, I headed over to “Positive Post”, where you can send and receive messages and show your Facebook friends just how much they are appreciated!
“Giving Thanks” is a totally free, limited time app. Click here to start playing now!
So tell me, readers: What are you grateful for this year?
