As you may recall, last year we reviewed a mole repellant spray from Sweeney’s, and were impressed. It did a great job of deterring the little moles from both our yard and grandma’s, so we were quite satisfied! Now that we have a gravel driveway, it’s important for us to keep on top of the mole activity in that area so that they don’t damage it. So when we had an opportunity to check out Sweeney’s Repellent Granules, I was pleased to give it a try.

Jai is our household’s official “Pest Man”, so he got the job of trying out the new mole repellent. He took the bag out to the driveway and got to work:

It’s very simple to use – simply open the bag, and shake over the desired area. Jai really liked how fast and effortless this was – it’s even easier than the other mole repellents we’ve used, as you don’t have to affix it to a hose or anything.

This was so fast and simple – Jai was out there for maybe 5 minutes. We love easy! According to the website, this product is also safe to use around children and pets, so we’re going to take this over to grandma’s and put it on her lawn as well, since it will be safe for her dog Bob to be around.

Sweeney’s have a selection of other products for battling moles, including Sweeney’s Deadset Mole Trap, which is a trap that is triggered by underground activity and kills moles, and Sweeney’s Poison Moleworms, a bag of decoy worms that are actually poisonous to moles. For our mole situation, repellent works more than well enough, so we have not had a need to go further than that, but you have many options available if you have a big mole problem on your hand.
