Holiday Gift Guide 2010: EyeBuyDirect Prescription Glasses (ARV $100) Review & Giveaway – Ends 11/22

In my opinion, some of the best gifts are those which fulfill a need: Practical items which the recipient will truly benefit from. Today, I’m going to share with you how I gave eyeglasses from EyeBuyDirect as a present; and one lucky Contest Corner reader will win a pair of prescription eyeglasses with their choice of frame, up to $100 – so read on!

Most people wouldn’t automatically think of eyeglasses as a gift idea – but it worked out great for me! Last year, I won an EyeBuyDirect giveaway over at MyTrendyTykes. Jai has been in need of glasses for some time, so I made a cute card with a photo of eyeglasses and printed the gift code on the inside. I gave it to him for his birthday, and he loved it! We all know that eyeglasses can be a big expense, so it was fabulous to win a free pair. He selected these “Beta” frames in black – here he is sporting them:

Our experience with EyeBuyDirect was great, so when they contacted me recently and asked if I would be interested in writing a review and hosting a giveaway of my own, I was happy to take them up on the offer. We were provided with another complimentary gift code, so this time Jai looked through the selection and decided on these “Lachen” frames in Gunmetal. Jai and I were both eager to see what this style would be like!

When the frames arrived, I opened the box and saw that the side of the frame was damaged – the screw and lens had fallen out of one side. I contacted EyeBuyDirect and they immediately let me know that they would start the return process. They told me to ship the damaged frames back, and it sounded like I would need to pay for postage. When I asked them about this, they told me that they would refund the amount to my debit card; so I re-packed the order, shipped it back, and they promptly refunded the shipping fee. They sent out a second pair of frames, and there were no issues this time!

Jai is most happy with his new specs! These are a larger frame than the “Beta”, so he can see better when he looks straight down – these will be great for driving. Having both these frames is perfect, because he can use each of them for different needs and situations. And it’s always good to have a backup pair! Jai and I are both happy with our EyeBuyDirect experience and how they handled both our orders. We would gladly order from them again!
