Today is an important day in the United States: Election day! I’m not a US citizen, so I can’t vote, but I can make some cupcakes! The photo above is from the last election in 2008. We were invited to an “Election Party”, where everyone ate politically-themed food and drank patriotic cocktails while watching the election coverage. My contribution was these cheerful red & blue “Election Day Cupcakes” – I tinted the batter as well, so they were colorful all the way through. I’ll be too busy biting my fingernails to make any special food this year, but I thought I’d share the idea for these nonpartisan cupcakes for anyone who wants something fun to eat while you wait at the polls!
Don’t forget to vote today if you’re a US citizen!
Voted first thing this morning. Thanks for making me want cupcakes now 😛
Oh so yummy! I voted, now can I have a cupcake please ? 😉
Those are so fun and vivid and I would eat one from both parties, cuz I’m just not the polarizing type. 😉
They can be used for many US holidays! We love tinting frosting.
