I’ve been having a terrible time with dry skin on my lips. For the last few years, I’ve had problems with the skin on my lips peeling, cracking, and bleeding. I wear lip moisturizing balm/gloss 24/7, and I’ve tried all kinds of exfoliants, including the standard “Exfoliate your lips with an old toothbrush” trick. So when I heard that natural beauty company Bubalina had a treatment aimed to moisturize and exfoliate lips, I was all ears!
I received some complimentary sample pots of Bubalina’s Lip Rejuvenation Treatment to try out, and I was really looking forward to seeing if these could help my poor lips. This lip treatment is “Chocolat” flavored, and when I opened the envelope I immediately caught a whiff of the wonderful chocolate aroma. These products smell so chocolaty and good, it actually made me hungry! The set is made with organic ingredients, including Wildcrafted Shea Butter and essential oils. The products are very creamy and leaked a little bit in the envelope, causing one of the labels to peel off.
The first step is to apply the Lip Scrub and work it in gently. This is an exfoliating sugar scrub that does quite a good job of sloughing off the lips – it smells (and tastes!) wonderful. I wiped it off with a warm, moist towel and then proceeded to the second step, applying the Lip Masque. We’ve all heard of mud masques for your face, right? Well, the Lip Masque is exactly that, but for your lips! I’ve used all kinds of beauty treatments before, and never heard of something like this, so I was really curious to try it. This masque has a creamy texture and smells just like chocolate pudding. It tingled and burned a little as it dried on my lips – probably because they were a bit cracked and raw. I rubbed it off with a wet towel, and then moved on to the third step, applying the Lip Renewal cream. This is a glossy, moisturizing cream that smells great (But actually didn’t taste too good). It wears a lot like petroleum jelly.
Bubalina’s Lip Scrub
I first tried out these products when they arrived on Saturday, and my lips felt quite smooth through the weekend. When I woke up this morning, the skin was peeling quite badly, so it was a good time to give it a second treatment with the Lip Rejuvenation kit. The sugar scrub did a really great job of removing the dead skin gently without leaving it raw and bleeding – which has been my problem previously. I followed this with the Masque and Renewal Cream, and my lips have felt great all day; the skin is smooth without being rubbed raw or torn. So far, I have really enjoyed using this set of products – I’m most impressed by the exfoliating power of the lip scrub, and intend to continue using these products on my poor dry lips!
Bubalina’s Lip Rejuvenation Treatment sells for $36 and is available to purchase on their website.
Oh yum chocolate! How could it get any better!
I like the look of the lip scrub. My lips get sunburnt easily so flake a lot.
Chocolate lip scrum.. Yum 🙂
Oh, looks so luxurious.
This sounds like a keeper! I can’t stand dry skin on my lips! And chocolate flavored? Fantastic!
Oh wow! This sounds like a great product! I would love to try it out!! Gotta love chocolate flavor!
