We did a complete overhaul of our dining room last month, and I’ve been having fun redecorating it. My goal has been to make it really feel like the “Family room”, so I’ve been choosing all of my decor along that theme. Our dining room table is one that belonged to my parents growing up, which Jai stripped down and re-finished before our wedding; we used it to sign our marriage license on. And because we got married during the total solar eclipse, Jai used a magnifying glass to aim the sun’s rays onto the table in order to burn our wedding date and eclipse shapes on it, turning it into a treasured piece.
Above the dining room table is an heirloom painting. The trees in the painting represent my mom’s side of the family, and there is a dedication from the artist to our family on the side of the piece.
