Annoying Orange DVD & Keychain Giveaway – Ends 06/19

If you’ve been on YouTube in the last few years, you’ve probably seen the “Annoying Orange” clips. Well, now the Orange has parlayed his 15 minutes of internet fame into a TV show! In The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange Vol. 2: Get Juiced! and The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange: The Complete First Season, we see the Internet’s favorite Orange in a hybrid cartoon/live action show aired on Cartoon Network.

I received a copy of these DVDs recently and decided to check it out while I was snacking on some popcorn. As you’d expect, the show is very frenetic and loud. The human protagonist, played by fellow YouTube star Toby Turner, reminds me a bit of the older brother in iCarly. He gets into all kinds of antics while trying to keep Annoying Orange and company in line – in this series, we meet all manner of fruit, vegetables, and even marshmallows who form Annoying Orange’s posse of friends. Some of the voice acting reminded me a little bit of both South Park and SpongeBob.

Annoying Orange carries a sense of fast-paced, semi-surreal humor – this show was a bit manic for me, but I think the DVD would be a cute gift for pop culture fans who have their pulse on memes, as well as families with children – the DVD is “Family Approved” which means it’s been reviewed and approved by The Dove Foundation as a show they’ve deemed to fit their family-friendly guidelines.

The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange Vol. 2: Get Juiced! is available on Amazon now, as is The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange: Season 1. Volume 2 contains 10 episodes from season one with a suggested retail price of $14.93 while the complete Season 1 collection has all 30 for $29.93.
