I turned 40 last week! I had a party at a local park with family and friends to celebrate, and it was an amazing time. I wore an all-pink outfit topped off with a 40th birthday tiara and sash that I found on Amazon for $4.49. To top off the bargain of a look, I found pink and gold fake nails at Dollar Tree that matched the sash perfectly, along with a pair of bejeweled false eyelashes – what a haul! I accessorized with my “1983” necklace to round out the 40th birthday vibes.
Fun fact: I re-used this “Happy 40th Birthday” banner from Jai’s 40th birthday party, which I did this Wordless Wednesday about back in 2010. Time flies!!
We had a buffet with 3 different kinds of cake, fruit and coffee.
The park has a playground with a play pirate ship. So imagine our surprise to discover a real live mermaid in the shipwreck!
Our beloved Grammy passed away earlier this year, and I had the privilege of inheriting her pink teacup and saucer. I thought it was the perfect thing to drink out of while wearing my big hat!
I also inherited this commemorative wine glass from her, from the first annual Seaside Art & Wine Festival in 1983, my birth year. I used this glass to raise a toast to 40 – cheers!
You must have had a wonderful time. I love that huge hat!
Looks like a great birthday party. I love your hat, dress and eyelashes.
