I recently discussed how wonderful it is to have ready-made frozen meals on hand during this time of year. Although Christmas is over, it’s going to be an extremely hectic work week for me, so any time-savers right now are most welcome until I have a little more breathing room in 2012! So when a large box of complimentary Alexia Foods samples arrived at my door, I knew this would come in very handy. After Jai finished playing with the dry ice that the frozen foods were packed in, we set about actually sampling the food! 😉
I received one bag of Waffle Cut Sweet Potato Fries, a bag of Oven Fries With Olive Oil and Sea Salt, and a twin-pack of Garlic Baguettes.
I LOVE garlic bread so I was really excited to see how this would turn out. I usually make my own from scratch, so I thought it was really cool to just rip a bag and stick the bread on a pan. Talk about effortless, and it was as delicious as it was easy – buttery and delectable, these loaves didn’t last long!
As a British woman, french fries (Or “Chips” as we call them) are a staple side dish for many of my meals; so I was eager to see how the Oven Fries would stack up. We decided to taste test these on Christmas Eve as a snack, and really enjoyed them. They have a nice thick cut and good flavor – I put malt vinegar on them, as that’s how chips are served in England and it makes them taste more like I’d get back home. Tasty! We also really enjoyed the Sweet Potato Fries, which are a great combo of salty and sweet – unique and yummy. Perfect flavor for the holiday season, too!
