It seems like we only just finished Christmas and here we are approaching Valentine’s Day already. 2013 will mark the tenth Valentine’s Day Jai and I have spent together – holy cow, where does the time go?! I’ll never forget that first Valentine’s Day, when Jai surprised me with a beautiful vintage bracelet. Grandma used to run a jewelry store, so he had asked her to take a look at her leftover stock. He picked out the bracelet, and also a little spiral charm, and Grandma said, “The bracelet is a good choice, but why do you want that little piece of junk [The spiral charm]?†It was actually an in-joke, because at that time I was reading a comic series called Uzumaki, where the protagonist is haunted by spirals. Once you read the comic, you start to notice spirals in everything, so he knew I’d laugh at the spiral charm. It was a great gift that I will never forget or cease to cherish – the bracelet is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, and the charm has been hanging on my wall ever since!
But not all gifts involve jewelry or cards. They say that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and that certainly holds true at Valentine’s Day when everyone rushes to buy candy! If you’re like me, and you enjoy spoiling people with presents AND saving money, then you might want to click here to check out these coupons from Shari’s Berries. Does that name sound familiar? It should! Last year, we reviewed a selection of their chocolate-dipped strawberries and oh boy, was it good! We took our box of strawberries over to a family gathering to share, and one person who had never had Shari’s Berries before commented after tasting them that: “If a suitor really wanted to impress me, THIS is what they should bring!†This was months prior to Valentine’s Day, so I really can’t think of a better endorsement. 😉 Check out the link above to browse through the offerings and check out what sales you can snag. Who knows, you might just find the perfect v-day gift!
My kids would LOVE chocolate covered berries for a gift. Me, not so much. We don’t do much for V day here- at least my hubby and me don’t. I do with the kids. It’s just so fun. I love the handmade cards they bring home for us!
Their berries are so sweet and juicy. I really, really love them, and I agree that sometimes the most cherished gifts are those that have a particular meaning behind them.
I like chocolate covered strawberries but Bryan is allergic to chocolate. 🙁
I’m not a fan of chocolate mixed with fruit, but I’ve heard Shari’s Berries products are good.
Mmm….I love ALL THE THINGS dipped in chocolate!!
Chocolate covered strawberries sound amazing, but that’s such a cute story about the bracelet & the charm!
I love chocolate covered strawberries. My husband usually tries to surprise with me pretty flowers.
