I received two complimentary bottles of Resource Natural Spring Water earlier in the week, and it was great timing since the weather was pretty warm when it arrived. I’ve been increasing my water intake due to our new diet & fitness program, so this also coincided nicely with those efforts. Jai and I both sampled a bottle and were both refreshed. Resource comes in a pretty bottle with a clean, refreshing taste. There’s not much to say about the “Flavor” other than it tastes like pleasant, clean water should! The bottle is made from 50% recycled plastic, excluding the cap and label, and they say that it is “Sustainably sourced” although I couldn’t find any information elaborating on that. Anything that can reduce plastic consumption is a great thing, so I like the recycled packaging – I did quite a bit of research into this topic for an article I wrote several years back, and bottled water causes a huge amount of plastic to be created. Ideally, the solution to this is to reduce our consumption of bottled water, but being realistic I know that it’s still a huge market and I imagine it would still be sold in some instances even if everyone started primarily drinking out of reusable tumblers. So, recycled packaging is a good step towards diminishing the environmental impact of plastic bottles.
