Whether you’re a fan of self-improvement books, wanting to make positive changes in your life, a fan of MoneySavingMom.com, or all three, this giveaway is for you! FIVE lucky Contest Corner readers will each win a copy of the ebook 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life by Crystal Paine, so read on!
I’ve been a fan of the Money Saving Mom website for years now. Run by frugal blogger extraordinaire Crystal Paine, Money Saving Mom always has interesting information and articles. If you’re a long-time reader, you may recall that last year she ran a blog series titled 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life. The series was such a hit that she’s revamped it and put it all together as a new ebook!
I received a complimentary ebook to check out, and I enjoyed reading through it. It was fun to get a refresher on the series, but make no mistake, this isn’t just a bunch of blog posts compiled into a PDF – Crystal has reworked and expanded on the concept to create a fresh new take on the series. The book is beautifully formatted and works great in ebook format as it references lots of great resources in the form of clickable links. The book also comes with printable worksheets that you can use as you work through the series.
21 Days to a More Disciplined Life is an easy-to-read book that the time-pressed can quickly read in short chapters as you follow along with each day’s challenge. The concept is to make slow, steady, and manageable steps during each of the 21 days to make your life more organized and productive. The emphasis here is on manageable! Crystal emphasizes that it’s too easy to attempt drastic changes and get burned out before you actually make any real progress. I think we can all relate to that one! If you’re already overwhelmed with too much going on, then it’s especially important not to add even more to your plate. This book comes as a good reminder to me this month, as I’ve been working this week on my goal of wrapping up work by no later than 7 PM. When you’re self-employed with a home office, it’s tempting to work extremely long days every day…which is OK until you realize how burned out and unproductive you are! I want to make sure I stay sharp and don’t throw my fitness goals out the window in favor of working 14-hour days, so I realized I had to set a strict cut-off point each day since I’ll never “Be done” with work. This is the goal I will be working on over the next 21 days!
If you’re seeking inspiration for practical, realistic ways you can make positive changes, then I think you will enjoy this book.
