Want a tasty, versatile snack that you can serve during your summer BBQs and picnics? Then look no further: One lucky Contest Corner reader will receive 3 coupons good for free Sabra Hummus as well as a nifty Sabra t-shirt, so read on!
If you’re a regular reader, you’ve probably deduced that we’re big fans of Sabra. Jai told me that Sabra was his first real exposure to hummus, and for me Sabra was one of the first brands I tried that I really liked. We find the flavor to be quite addicting, and they’re continually releasing new varieties to whet the appetite! We recently received a box full of complimentary samples of some of Sabra’s most recent additions, including Southwest Garden Hummus, Tuscan Herb Garden Hummus, and Asian Fusion Garden Hummus. We tried the first two pretty recently and found them to be absolutely delicious, so we were eager to dig in to them again. The Southwest has a spicy jalapeno kick while the Tuscan Herb is reminiscent of ingredients that you’d put in a good pasta sauce. The Asian Fusion was a new taste to us, blending sesame seeds and ginger with chickpeas and vegetables. It doesn’t have as much of a flavor kick as the other two, but we still enjoyed it a lot.
The great thing about hummus is that it is a recommended addition to our Nutrisystem diet plan, so having it on hand has really come in handy. In my last weigh-in, I discussed how we’d been including hummus in our mealplans and serving it to guests. It’s so great to have something versatile that we can eat on our meal plan but still serve to others. I’ve been dishing up hummus in a variety of ways:
- With chopped carrots & celery for a crunchy dip (Great way to get those veggies in!)
- On wheat bread for a sandwich
- Mixing a dab in with a hardboiled egg for an egg salad sandwich with a kick!
